Security statement

We are proud of our long history of money management and our reputation for integrity and excellence. We want to continue to build on that reputation by providing you with products and services that help you meet your clients’ financial goals and with online technology that makes it easier and more convenient to do so. We constantly update our technology to ensure that the latest protective safeguards are in place to maintain the highest level of security and confidentiality over your personal information.

DWS stores user information, such as e-mail address, password, user preferences, and entries into online forms. This information is all stored off the website, on DWS' highly secure internal computer systems, to ensure that information is not available via the Internet.

Commitment to confidentiality

To help protect your personal information, we employ the following security mechanisms:

  • We have set a minimum password length of eight characters, including at least one lower case letter, one upper case letter and one number (e.g., aBcd1234), for access to fundsus.dws.com. Passwords are case sensitive and cannot contain spaces.
  • Once you log in to secure areas of the site, you are logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity. To restart your session, you need to log in again.
  • After three failed attempts to log in, we lock the user out. If you get locked out of your account, please use the reset password functionality as outlined on the website.
  • You can help protect your personal information on our website. We recommend that you periodically change your password, or if you think someone knows your password, you should change it.

Use of secure socket layer (SSL)

We use encryption technology to ensure the safe transmission of your information on all our secure websites. Your browser provides security by allowing us to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption up to 128-bit length encryption (the most secure system currently available) when transmitting your information. To benefit from this, your browser must support 128-bit encryption.

Every secure page on DWS’ websites has been secured with a digital certificate by VeriSign, Inc. This is shown via the “site certificate” that sits on all secure pages. To view this certificate, click on the image of the closed lock or the solid key on the bottom bar of your browser window. A small frame displaying site security information will appear. If you use Internet Explorer, select the “Details” tab, then click on the word “Subject” to verify the website. Click on “Issuer” to verify the site certification authority. If you use Netscape, click on the “View Certificate” button to see information on the subject and issuer.

Use of cookies

To personalize your experience on our website, we may assign your computer browser a “cookie.” A cookie is a small file that is sent to your computer by a website’s server.

Certain sections of our site require cookies to be enabled to enhance website performance. For example, they provide a secure way for us to verify your identity during your online session, they enable us to personalize your experience on our site, and they help enhance site navigation. Cookies also help us to understand how people use our site so that we can improve site functionality.

We use two types of cookies on our website, per-session cookies and persistent cookies. Per-session cookies are used to store information during a browser session and will expire automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies are used to store information between visits to our website and are stored for a length of time that our web server specifies when it assigns the cookie to your browser.

Accepting a cookie from our website does not compromise your privacy or security. Cookies are sent securely using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. We only access the cookie we assign to your computer browser each time you revisit our site.
