Professional career

Dr Markus Kobler is CFO and member of the management board of DWS KGaA. Markus joined DWS in November 2023 from Allianz Global Investors where he was Chief Financial Officer (since 2013) and UK Branch Manager (since 2020).
Prior to this, Markus hold various roles in Bank Julius Baer & Co since 2003. He was Global Head of Onboarding, based in Zurich, and responsible for the transfer of clients and staff in the integration of Merrill Lynch International Wealth Management into Julius Baer. Previously he lived for more than six years in Singapore and was COO Asia and Deputy CEO Bank Julius Baer, Singapore. Before moving to Asia, Markus helped to coordinate the integration of SBC Wealth Management into the Julius Baer Group in 2005 and was in charge of the Business Line Management function of Julius Baer’s Asset Management division.
Before joining Julius Baer in 2003, Markus was a senior consultant at McKinsey in Zurich.
Markus holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Basel in Switzerland.
